New Website and Still Broke? Here’s Why Your Website Isn’t Getting You Paid!

Time and time again I have had clients come to me with beautiful websites asking me why their websites still aren’t generating new business for them. I am not a web designer so that’s always been a difficult conversation for me to have with my clients because I never want to bash another creatives work; however, I know first hand how stressful web designing can be (I work alongside tons of them every day) and often times businesses blame designers first when their businesses don’t suddenly see an influx of phone calls right away.

While web designing does play a crucial role in your digital footprint, having a website alone is not going to produce results for you overnight. Having a website that generates new business and leads to take time and some additional effort that you must consistently execute in order to see any level of success.

Here are 5 reasons why your website still isn’t generating new business:

Not Mobile Friendly

It’s 2017 and if your website isn’t mobile friendly you have already lost one of the biggest online battles. There are several websites available including Google that allows you to test whether or not your website is mobile friendly almost instantly. Many of your potential customers want to buy from you directly via your website but are unable to because your site isn’t fit for their mobile device. Studies have shown that more customers and consumers are shopping on mobile devices like never before which means your lead generation strategy can’t afford to have flaws such as mobile unfriendliness.

No Call To Action

What do you want people who visit your website to do? Do you want them to call you? Email you? Chat with you or buy from you? Whatever it is that you want from your potential customer or consumer, TELL THEM.

As a Content Marketer I am a firm believer in utilizing calls to action in my client’s content. If your website doesn’t prompt your audience to make any type of action, they won’t.

Lots of business owners struggle with call to actions because they don’t want their customers to feel like they want something from them. NEWS FLASH: You do want something from them. You want their business!

No One Knows Your There

Ever been to an amazing event that was practically perfect and yet you didn’t meet not one person? If you’re like most people you’ve probably experienced that before and sadly your website is no different. It’s easy to design or have someone else design an amazing website for you and then post it on Facebook but if no one knows your there who will ever see it? That’s why it’s important that you have your link building strategies these strategies include but are not limited to:

  • Local Directories
  • Media Relations
  • Scholarships
  • Community Initiatives
